Hello! I'm new to this site, and I'm looking forward to making some of these beautiful cookies! You always learn something new, I guess, I have been applying royal icing to cookies with a pastry bag, I never even thought of a brush! Boy, do I feel stupid! But then again, if I knew it all, I wouldn't be here, would I? :D
I can't wait for a day off work to get started, I just recieved some great cookie cutters from Fancy Flours, so it's time to show these cookies who's boss! ;) - juli

Thank you for your comments. You're absolutely right about the printer. If you don't use it ever day (which I don't), at least turn it on and off so the printer cartridges are clean. You have a great idea with your website. I wish you luck. Get more designs on there! - KarenG

No Printer - No Problem!

These printers can get tricky, they work for a while then get clogged if you don't use them everyday. I came up with a new idea for the do-it-yourself people, without investing into equipment. I launched a new site called Cookie Toppers http://www.cookietoppers.com/- right now there are only a couple of designs, but I can make anything that you want - From Pittsburgh Steelers Cookies to Christmas Cookies. I don't just make circles, I make all kinds of shapes that are pre-cut for easy cookie de - kenny

The edible ink cartridges that I use are for a specific printer as shown on www.tastyfotoart.com. You might want to check out their website to see if the ink cartridges would work with your printer. - KarenG

Photo Cookies

Yes, the photo cookies use wafer paper so it's the same thing as the Easter cookies. I buy the wafer paper in 8 1/2 x 11 sheets and print photos, company logos, etc. and cut them out just like I show in the wafer paper video. I don't have an issue with the paper lifting up when using corn syrup as the glue. Just make sure you brush it all the way to the edges of the paper. Thanks for all the great comments. Have fun. - KarenG

Thanks once again for the input! After looking at their site it appears that the photo when printed, would be similiar to the easter wafer paper cut-outs you have displayed (from fancyflours)-same thing? After reading comments on the wafer paper and frosting sheets it seems that the main difference is that the wafer paper does not "meld" into the cookie as well (lifting up?). Have you had this experience? I have ordered some of the fancy flour wafer papers for Easter so I guess I will find out soon. Hope I am not being to obsessive with the questions. I appreciate your time very much! And all your videos. Youre a great resource; everything I have learned so far has been from books and just reading, reading reading & experimenting (playing) a lot. Good to not have to learn everything the hard way!! ;D Teri - tlfranch

Edible Ink Printer

I purchased my printer, edible ink and photo paper all from www.tastyfotoart.com. They have good information on their website. Always keep an extra set of ink cartridges as backup. You don't want to be in the middle of a print project and run out of ink. - KarenG

Karen I may be interested in purchasing one. Online I see the KopyKake system but I have no experience with any of these systems. Your input would be appreciated. Ie what all do you need & how much and where the best place to purchase is. Thanks so much!! Teri - tlfranch
