Let's Talk Cookies!

I know you all love to support the Girl Scouts just as much as I do, but I want to share with you some awesome recipes based on the infamous Girl Scout Cookies.  This one is my favorite Girl Scout Cookie -- Thin Mints.  I especially love them frozen.   If you run out of cookies, try making these yourself.  You can have them anytime of the year!

I was searching for St. Patrick's Day cookie recipes for kids and came across this recipe that looked so delicious,  I had to share it with you.  This recipe is definitely not for kids.  It has a cookie type crust and rich filling made with sweetened condensed milk, Irish cream and coffee granules.

I especially love that the whipped cream is made fresh with whipping cream, brown sugar, 1 tbsp Irish cream liqueur and vanilla.  It makes this easy recipe look and taste gourmet.  What a perfect way to start and/or end your St. Patrick's Day celebration.

While watching the Free Dance tonight on the Olympics, it reminded me of these Cinnamon Swirl Cookies.  Lots of twirls, swirls and good fun.  Okay, maybe that's a little cheesy, but these cookies are to die for.  My hubby LOVES these cookies and if you're a cinnamon roll fan, you'll love them too.  I use pecans instead of walnuts, but feel free to use your favorite.

I made conversation heart cookies tonight.  Cute and easy as can be.  When they're dry, I'll use an edible marker to write my phrases.  Any new ideas for 2010?  Let me know by commenting on this blog.

Everyone will be clapping for these fantastic, five-fingered favorites!  The kids will love personalizing these cookies by tracing around their own hands and making a template to cut out the cookies.  They're also very easy to decorate using chocolates and candies.

Day 2 of Super Bowl Cookies . . . Here is the finished product.  I love how simple these cookies are, yet you definitely know which team they represent.

I found these cute Groundhog's Day cookies and had to share.  This would be a great cookie project for a class.

Find the recipe under the Cookies for Kids Menu in the Recipe Tab.

It's a cold cold weekend outside so it's the perfect time to be inside baking cookies.  This weekend will be Super Bowl and Valentine's Day cookies.  I started with baking 3 dozen Super Bowl cookies last night.  Today will be Valentines.  I'll show you more pics when they're decorated.  I usually make helmet cookies with the team logo.  But this year, both teams have great logos that I already had cookie cutters for so I'll do something different and just make the logos.  I think they'll look great!
