A perfectly easy way to honor Labor Day is this flag cookie salute!

A friend of mine asked me for some dessert recipes using Girl Scout Cookies.  I've started posting them on the Recipes page but I will probably make it a permanent category in the Recipes Menu because I have so many recipes.  Feel free to contribute your own recipes and enjoy the Girl Scout Cookies!

I know there are a lot of chocolate chip cookie dough fans out there and when I saw this recipe, I knew I had to share it.  The cupcakes start with a brown sugar-chocolate chip cupcake base, filled with eggless cookie dough, topped with cookie dough buttercream and decorated with a teeny tiny version of your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe (optional).  So basically, heaven.

Yield:24 cupcakes

I usually make my little friend Sean (aka Cookie Monster) chocolate chip cookies.  I know it's his Dad's favorite too and they both enjoy them tremendously.   When I saw Sean at the pool a few weeks ago, I asked him what his favorite cookie was and he said m&m cookies.  It's been a long time since I've made these cookies so it was a lot of fun.  And I know he'll be thrilled to get them.

We had a bbq over the weekend and I decided to make a little something for everyone's taste.

It's the chocolate candy in the center that will surprise you. You can also hide other treats inside these Brownie Gems too, such as peanut butter chips or cherries. All it takes is Brownie Mix and a little bit of creativity.

I made some quick and easy star cookies for the cookout at my sister's house tomorrow. Here's some step-by-step instructions and tips to make these great cookies.

Like most sparklers, these are extinguished after a short while -- with several large bites. To make two dozen, place 4 ounces chopped semisweet chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water. Stir occasionally until melted; remove from heat. Using a pastry brush, coat the upper third of each pretzel rod in chocolate. Cover with sprinkles; stand pretzels upright in a glass. Place in the refrigerator until firm, about 5 minutes.  Let the fireworks begin!
